Soorma is the story of hockey player Sandeep Singh that takes the audience through the most crucial phase his life. It is an inspiring saga of how a young man finds his true calling in playing a sport for his nation and the importance of family following an unfortunate incident that leaves him paralysed.
His hockey skills intact, Sandeep now commits to play for the nation and not for Harpreet. Sandeep soon makes it to the top and is appointed as the captain of the Indian national team in January 2009 leading India into the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. The film ends with Sandeep being honoured with the Arjuna Award by former President Pratibha Patil.
